Always Good - June 2020

“For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever,

and his faithfulness to all generations.”

~ Psalm 100:5 ~

This past month we had the privilege of gathering with our sending church for three Sundays. For their hymn of the month, we corporately learned a hymn entitled, “You are Always Good.” The Scriptural truths in this song encouraged our hearts as they brought to mind characteristics of our loving God. How good it is to rehearse His attributes and remember His works! Amidst the challenges and changes of this year, what a blessing that our never-changing God remains constant and good.

As mentioned above, we spent most of June in South Carolina. On our way there, we stopped in Alabama to visit the Woodfins. We are thrilled that they will soon be joining us in Texas! Our time in South Carolina was a blessing. We spent a lot of time with friends and ministry partners, and God provided several occasions to speak Spanish! Jeff also had the opportunity to give an update and preach. It was refreshing to physically sit under the preaching of God’s Word and learn from our pastor.

We are thankful for good health as we’ve traveled. While we’ve been away, COVID cases have increased in Texas, and the state has returned to tight restrictions. At this point, RGBI plans to have physical classes in the fall, but there is a chance that we will have to study online again. Please pray for wisdom for the staff and administration as they seek the best course of action in this matter.

With the busyness of traveling and fellowship in English, we have not practiced Spanish as much as we would like. We won’t have as much traveling in the month of July, so please pray that we will be diligent in speaking and studying Spanish. We have several meetings next month, and we’re looking forward to updating several supporting churches on what God has been teaching us.

As always, thank you so much for your prayers for us! We could not do what we are doing without you.

Simon Says:

Simon continues to grow and develop. He is learning new words and starting to form sentences. We are learning how to understand him. He had a great time with his friends at Community and enjoyed spending time with Tia Kelly and Tio Peter

(Lisa’s sister and brother-in-law). Please pray for wisdom as we parent our developing toddler.

Praise and Prayer:

1. Praise: God’s constant goodness

2. Praise: Time with church family

3. Pray: Spanish over the summer

4. Pray: Fall semester at RGBI
